WHERE THEY WORK BEST
Denim is the ideal fabric for iron on patches. The tight cotton weave holds heat-activated adhesive better than almost anything else, and the bond survives washing without lifting or peeling.
Apply at 320°F for 25–30 seconds with firm, even pressure. Parchment paper between iron and patch protects the embroidered surface. Bond sets fully after 24 hours — don't wash within the first day.
Cotton and canvas jackets bond well. Apply extra pressure along the edges — that's where adhesive patches most commonly lift first. For a permanent result, add a few corner stitches after pressing.
Applying to hats requires working around a curved surface. A hat-specific heat press gives flat contact and a clean, even bond. For beanies, use low heat with multiple short presses.
100% cotton shirts bond reliably. Left chest placement, 2–4 inch patches. Not recommended on sheer fabrics, mesh, or performance sportswear — sew-on or velcro backing is the right option for synthetics.

100% cotton and denim are the ideal surfaces. The natural fibre structure holds heat-activated adhesive cleanly. Temperature: 320°F, 25–30 seconds, firm even pressure.
Canvas bags, twill work shirts, cotton-canvas jackets — all bond well at the same temperature range as denim.
Cotton/polyester blends work at lower settings — 270°F–290°F. Always test on a scrap piece first. Press in short 10-second intervals.
Nylon, synthetic waterproofing, spandex, and mesh are not suitable for iron on patches. The heat damages these materials before the bond forms. Use sew-on or velcro instead.

Yes. Re-heat the patch at approximately 320°F for 15–20 seconds. The adhesive softens when re-heated, allowing you to peel the patch away while it's still warm. Adhesive residue can be removed with rubbing alcohol.
